Genesis: Pololu
The company's founding year dates back to 2000, when three MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) students developed an IR beacon system for several thousand autonomous robots for a competition. The system allowed the robots to recognize each other, enabling more sophisticated strategies. The beacon system subsequently became Pololu's first product. The U.S. manufacturer's target audience ranges from robotics developers and hobbyists to universities and schools.
